Inaugural Lilac Run at capacity
The Gresham Lilac Run, the city's first five kilometer fun run and walk, 10K and half-marathon has sold out.
All race expenses were funded by sponsors so the city donated all $21,077 in runner event fees to the nonprofit Family of Friends. Family of Friends connects children in Gresham and East Multnomah County in need of support with volunteer mentors.
On Saturday, April 13, runners and walkers will gather between 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Gresham City Hall, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway, to start their leg of the event.
Participants will enjoy scenic vistas on a diverse network of trails, including the Gresham-Fairview Trail, Gresham Butte Saddle Trail, Butler Creek Trail and the Springwater Corridor. All routes end back at Gresham City Hall, where runners will be presented with a medal.
