Construction resumes on Wood Village streets
Road construction will resume on Northeast Arata Road between Northeast 223rd Avenue and Northeast 238th Drive in Fairview and Wood Village starting Monday, April 8. The work is part of a complete rebuild and redesign of the road that began in spring 2018. Construction was halted over the winter due to weather.
A temporary traffic pattern directing traffic on one lane of the road will remain in place until road construction is completed, which is expected to be this summer. Flaggers will direct traffic at times. Access will be maintained for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles.
When complete, the full length of Arata Road will include:Two lanes for motor vehicles A 10-foot wide shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists on the north side New 6-foot wide sidewalks on the south side A 5-foot wide water quality planter strip to treat stormwater runoff
