Gresham Police Department will be conduct pedestrian safety operation soon.

The Gresham Police Department will be conducting a pedestrian safety operation next week at the intersection of Northeast Cleveland Avenue and Northeast Eighth Street.

The operation will be from 7 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, with warning signs posted prior to entering the area. Motorists must stop and yield to pedestrians who are waiting to cross, or who are already crossing the roadway. Motorists are also required to stop at all crosswalks when there is a vehicle already stopped in a lane next to theirs.

Funding for the operation was from an Oregon Impact and Oregon Department of Transportation grant.
