Gresham Subaru presented a check for $23,193.69 to 4th Dimension Recovery Center Thursday afternoon, April 25, at the group's main location in the 3800 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland.

"This program means a lot to our community," said Nick Smit, general manager and partner at Gresham Subaru. "They are saving lives."

The donation by Gresham Subaru wasn't a one-time thing — the dealership has been supporting 4th Dimension Recovery Center for the last four years, giving almost $180,000.

"Gresham Subaru is our No. 1 donor. They have done so much for us," said Tarra McCarthy, development manager at 4th Dimension Recovery Center.

4th Dimension provides a space for young people to overcome drug addiction and alcoholism through social interactions and mentor services. All of the staff at the nonprofit organization are in recovery, allowing them to connect with the youth they serve.
