MCSO IDs skeletal remains as missing Fairview woman
Multnomah County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) identified human remains that were found near Chinook Landing Marine Park on Monday, May 20, as Fairview resident Tiffany Bettis.
MCSO began a death investigation after skeletal remains were reported found near Northeast 223rd and Northeast Marine Drive in Fairview. Sheriff's deputies worked with the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab to identify the remains.
Bettis, also known as Melinda Smith, was reported missing in March 2015. She was last seen at the Quality Inn, 2752 N.E. Hogan Drive, Gresham, on March 2, 2015. She has three children.
MCSO Detectives and the East County Major Crimes Team are continuing to investigate her cause of death.
