Clackamas County began resurfacing about three miles of roadway in the Damascus area Monday morning, June 10.
The roads to receive improvements include:Borges Road — Tillstrom Road to 222nd Drive. Kingswood Court — Kingswood Way to end-of-county maintenance. Kingswood Way — Borges Road to Yellowhammer Street. Trillium Court — Kingswood Way to end-of-county maintenance. Yellowhammer Street — West dead end to end-of-county maintenance.
Work will take place during the daylight hours during the week, and should be completed by Friday, Aug. 30. There is a possibility of weekend or night work depending on weather and other conditions.
Kingswood Court, Kingswood Way, Trillium Court and Yellowhammer Street will remain open during construction, but there will be lane closures and delays of up to 20 minutes at a time. There will be flaggers, so drivers are asked to slow down and use caution near the work zone.
Borges Road from Tillstrom Road to 222nd Drive is expected to be closed for through traffic through this week. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access during the closure.
The road maintenance and safety improvement project is part of the county's pavement preservation plan for 2019. The project is funded through the county's share of state gas tax, vehicle registration fees and commercial weight-mile taxes.
