After hours investigating two attempted luring of separate 11-year-old girls, Gresham Police officers said the claims were not credible and there is not threat to the public.
The supposed abduction attempts were reported Friday, June 7, and Sunday, June 9. Police were told two different men tried to get young girls into their vehicles. Though after hours investigating what occurred and reviewing video surveillance in the area, detectives came to the conclusion the incidents did not occur.
"We take these incidents very seriously," the police statement said.
The Gresham Police Department said that while child luring by a stranger is rare, it is still important that parents take the time to talk to their kids about stranger danger.
