Motorcyclist, 19, dies in collision in Gresham
A motorcyclist died after being struck by a car on Wednesday, June 12, at the Oregon Trail Center, Northeast Burnside Road and Northeast Hogan Drive.
The biker was traveling westbound on Burnside Road at approximately 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a vehicle that was traveling eastbound and was turning into the Oregon Trail Center. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Gresham Police Department.
The rider was identified as 19-year-old Gresham resident Henry Sweeney. The driver of the car was identified as 81-year-old Fairview resident Mary Bean.
Bean is cooperating with investigators.
