Police searching for suspects in early Friday morning incident; child found at residence is safe

A man in the apartment was also shot, and is receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries.Portland police found a woman fatally shot and a man wounded with multiple gunshot wounds early Friday morning, Aug. 30, at a residence near 174th Avenue and Powell Boulevard in Gresham.

East Precinct police officers responded to a residence near Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard at 3:33 a.m. on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult female with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Portland police reported.

Officers also located a second victim, an adult male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment to life-threatening injuries.

A young child was in the residence at the time of the shooting. The child is safe with officers and was not harmed.

Officers searched the area for the suspects. No arrests have been made in connection to this shooting.
