Arrest made in fatal Damascus shooting
A man was arrested late Sunday night in Damascus after allegedly fatally shooting his son in the chest after a confrontation.
William Paul Fuller, 69, was taken into custody by law enforcement without incident around 10 p.m. Sept. 1, at his home in the area of Southeast Eastmont Drive and Southeast Shady Lane.
Upon arrival, deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office found Jason Fuller, 35, with the gunshot wound. They attempted first aid and CPR. American Medical Response and Clackamas Fire District No.1 paramedics pronounced Jason Fuller dead at the scene.
Deputies detained William Fuller and a search warrant led to the seizure of several firearms. He has been booked in the Clackamas County Jail on a pair of charges — murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
In addition to the Clackamas deputies, Oregon State Police and Sandy Police also responded to the shooting. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the incident.
