An electronic component broke on the city of Fairview's water system over the weekend.

The city of Fairview is reporting that a breakdown in the municipal water system is under repair and chlorine levels in the water are returning to normal.

The city's water system experienced the failure of a component in the elecrtronic controls over the weekend.

The breakdown also affected the alarm system that monitors dosing levels.

"We have identified the issues, are replacing the faulty components, and are bringing the system back to normal levels of chlorine residual," the city reported in a press release.
