Edgefield holds fundraisers for two schools, locals earn spot on CCC honor roll

Have a burger, fund a school

Local schools will get a fundraising boost courtesy of Friends & Family Nights at McMenamins Edgefield resort. Schools will receive 50% of the nights' sales at Edgefield's Power Station Pub from 5 p.m. to close. All ages are welcome and any of the Pub's food and drink will be counted toward the total for the schools.

First up is Reynolds Arthur Academy on Monday, Jan. 27.

They will be followed by Corbett CAPS (Corbett Arts Program with Spanish) School on Monday, Feb. 3. CAPS students' will perform and their art will be displayed during the event.

Locals make CCC honor roll

Clackamas Community College announced its honor roll and president's list for fall term 2019. To earn a spot on the honor roll, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or better. The president's list requires a 3.75 or higher grade point average.

The fall president's list included: Austin Graff from Corbett and Jordan Nguyen and Courtney Fitzpatrick from Troutdale. Gresham residents on the president's list for fall term included: Angel Chapman, Amber Cole, Traci Smith, Douglas Thede, Thomas Yaremko, Steven Vanek, Brian Kidder, Jace Layton, Matthew Cornett, Lilybelle Moir, Alicia Hinojosa-Vejar and Amaya Lacey.

Local students earning a spot on the honor roll were: Angela Dorokhov from Fairview; Micah Ennis, Stephanie Gaxiola and Jeremy Schultz from Gresham; and Nathaniel Manson, Taylor Kovacich, Cameron Baldwin and Angelina Xiong from Troutdale.
