Lanny Bieroth, 49, allegedly held a woman against her will, assaulted her during drive north

COURTESY PHOTO: MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE - Lanny Bieroth A man was arrested at a Troutdale truck stop for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a woman while on the road from California.

Lanny Bieroth, 49, was taken into custody at around 11:51 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, after the adult victim was able to escape and get to safety inside a convenience store in the 400 block of Northwest Frontage Road. She told law enforcement she had been held against her will and assaulted as Bieroth drove north.

Deputies found Bieroth inside a tractor truck and arrested him. The victim was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation. Multnomah County Sheriff's Office detectives and a member of the Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team assisted the investigation.

Bieroth was booked on charges of second-degree kidnapping. Additional charges are expected in other jurisdictions.
