A Black Lives Matter flag will remain up through the month of July after a unanimous vote last month by Gresham City Council. In a motion made by Councilor Jerry Hinton, the group also voted to fly a Juneteenth flag throughout the month of June in the coming years to celebrate the holiday honoring the historical and ongoing struggles of the African American community.

The Black Lives Matter flag can be found at City Hall, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway. There had been a plan for a flag raising ceremony, but city leadership was concerned a large turnout would break social distancing guidelines.
