Summer fun in Troutdale
Despite the global pandemic and a summer seemingly devoid of activities for youth, the city of Troutdale is still offering some fun programs for its bored residents.
The Troutdale Recreation Department is up and running, and though the offerings are more limited than usual, there are several activities and classes available.
All of the programs are following safety precautions including physical distancing, face coverings and sanitizing. More information on what is being done to limit the spread of COVID-19 can be found on the registration website — https://troutdalerec.activityreg.com/
The offerings include:
• Youth Volunteer Parks Program: ages 13-17. A two week session with four dates, beginning Tuesday, July 21. This is a free program.
• Mad Science Rocket Camp: students entering grades K-6. One week camp, 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday, July 27-31. This program is half-price for Troutdale residents.
• Stroller Strides: 18 years and up — with kids in tow. Virtual classes. Register through FIT4MOM at https://gresham-mthood.fit4mom.com/
• Kinderclasses (dance, movement, kids yoga): ages 18 months to 9 years old. Three week session begins Aug. 17
If you are interested in taking part in a recreation program but have concerns about price, Troutdale offers two different discount options to all residents. For more information visit https://www.troutdaleoregon.gov/rec/page/recreation-program-discounts
