Man indicted for fatal 2019 Gresham hit-and-run
A 25-year-old man was indicted by a grand jury for charges related to a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in December of last year in Gresham.
Anatoliy Borovets is accused of operating a vehicle in a reckless manner that resulted in the death of Sergiy Volodimirovich Selivanov after law enforcement said he drove almost double the speed limit, at least 77 miles per hour.
Borovets faces first-degree manslaughter, failing to perform the duties of a driver, driving with a suspended or revoked license and reckless driving.
The charges come from a crash that occurred on Dec. 23, 2019, at Southeast 181st and Southeast Yamhill. Law enforcement said the crash caused the vehicle Borovets was driving to roll multiple times before hitting the side of a building. The engine and transmission of the vehicle were also separated from the rest of the vehicle due to the high-speed impact.
When police arrived, they said they found his vehicle upside down and burning. Witnesses reported Borovets allegedly fled the scene.
