Drive to Main City Park between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday to support local veterans

Gresham American Legion celebrates 100th birthday

The community is invited to help celebrate a Gresham group that has dedicated 100 years to supporting local veterans and their families.

The Gresham American Legion Post 30 is recognizing its milestone birthday by having a fundraiser — and the whole community is invited.

Drive into Gresham Main city Park, the corner of Main Avenue and Powell Boulevard, and pull into the loop at the end of the drive between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to purchase a hot dog, chips and water for $3. The celebration takes into account all safety precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic, and allows for people to support the organization while maintaining distance.

The food for the event was donated by Walmart.

All proceeds support the Gresham branch of the American Legion, which is a nonprofit organization that advocate for and uplift veterans.
