Thomas King, 28, faces manslaughter charge after female passenger died Monday night

Thomas King, who deputies believe was the driver, is facing a second-degree manslaughter charge.

The investigation began around 11:43 p.m. when Multnomah County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Northeast Marine Drive and Blue Lake Road on reports of a single-vehicle crash. First responders found a 2008 Ford Mustang that slammed into a guardrail. The female passenger did not survive.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
