As of late last week, the Dowty Road Fire is 60% contained.

The fire, one of two affecting the Estacada area, spans 1,500 acres near Eagle Creek.

During a community meeting on Saturday, Sept. 19, Carrie McCullen of the Oregon Department of Forestry said, "the rain has been a blessing to have for the Clackamas County fires, but we're not resting on our laurels."

"With this fire, or with any of the four fires that are within Clackamas County, we're digging our heels in, and have been aggressive while we have the opportunity to really get into these fires and make sure that they're well taken care of," McCullen added.

Staff from Clackamas Fire said the cause of the Dowty Road Fire is under investigation, and more information will be released when it is available.

Along with last week's community briefing, Clackamas Fire also released a video focused on the Dowty Road Fire.
