The fire near Eagle Creek spans 1,509 acres and is 91% contained as of Wednesday, Sept. 23

Fire officials have reported that the majority of the Dowty Road fire near Eagle Creek is contained.

As of Wednesday, Sept. 23, the Dowty Road Fire — which spans 1,509 acres — is 91% contained.

Along with the Dowty Road Fire, crews from Clackamas Fire District #1 are also managing the Unger, Graves Creek and Wilhoit fires. The Unger Fire is 497 acres and is 91% contained. The Wilhoit Fire is 532 acres and is 64% contained. The Graves Creek Fire is 46 acres and 100% contained.

A total of 222 personnel are working on these incidents.

"Crews are working to extend and reinforce existing containment lines to 250 feet within the fire imprint to ensure clean fire lines and to reduce potential for spread," a news release stated. "Extensive mop-up operations are ongoing for all fires."

Community members are asked to avoid driving beyond road blockades near fire areas.
