Two men, who were shot at a Rockwood Arco station late Wednesday night, suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.

The Gresham Police Department received a call at 10:32 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, that shots were heard in the neighborhood, said spokesman Lt. John Rasmussen.

Police responded and found two victims.

The two Black adult male victims were sitting in a dark-colored four-door sedan near a pump at the Arco, 18030 E. Burnside St. when they were shot.

Police would not identify the victims, and no arrests have been made.

Rasmussen did not reveal any information on the shooter or shooters in the incident or what might have led to the shooting.

"We don't know if the people knew each other, but it appears they were intended to be involved," Rasmussen said.

There has been an uptick in shootings in the Gresham area. Generally, Gresham recently has averaged about 1.5 shootings per month, but there were four in July, five in August, and eight in September, Rasmussen said.

The Wednesday shooting is being investigated, and as more information becomes available, The Outlook will update the story.

Gresham Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything about this shooting to call the tip line at 503-618-2719.
