Flood warnings, landslides, downed trees across East Multnomah County after Tuesday, Jan. 12, storm

COURTESY PHOTO: MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Jennifer Camus Moore is missing after a landslide swept her car off I-84 near Dodson.Officials are searching for a 50-year-old woman who is believed to have been swept away by a landslide Wednesday morning, Jan. 13, outside of Dodson in the Columbia River Gorge.

According to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Jennifer Camus Moore, of the unincorporated community of Warrendale, remains missing. In an interview with KOIN 6 News, her husband, Charles Moore, said the couple was traveling eastbound on Interstate 84 in separate cars around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Charles was following his wife when the landslide swept her SUV off the roadway. He told KOIN 6 that "conditions were so bad he could not see what direction his wife's vehicle went in."

Emergency responders with the Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon State Police and Sheriff's Office were unable to locate any heat sources via thermal imaging cameras, and are continuing to search for Moore or anyone else who may have been caught in the debris.

The landslide in the Gorge was related to the heavy rain and strong winds that hit the region Tuesday, Jan. 12. The storm prompted officials to issue a flash flood warning just before 5:30 a.m., urging residents of Dodson to evacuate the area. The National Weather Service deemed conditions "too dangerous to send in rescue crews" that morning.

For those evacuating, the Red Cross Cascades has rooms available at the Best Western Hood River, 1108 E. Marina Way.

I-84 is closed at the Troutdale exit after the landslide near Dodson, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Frontage Road is also closed at Ainsworth State Park.

Other road closures include Oxbow Drive, which is closed westbound only from 322nd to Division due to a downed tree hitting the powerlines. Louden Road, near Corbett, is also closed between Larch Mountain Road and Deverell Road because of a downed tree in power lines.
