Gresham hunkers down during winter storm
As snow pelts the region and winds around 28 miles per hour sweep in from the east, Gresham residents are choosing to hunker down and stay warm inside as much as possible.
The snow began Thursday evening, Feb. 11, and continued through the night, with accumulation of around two to four inches in some areas due to snow drifts from the wind. Roads remain in decent conditions, though there are reports of icy patches, especially around Troutdale.
The winter storm warning will remain in place through Saturday, Feb. 13, with snow and freezing rain on the horizon according to the U.S. National Weather Service. The peak was forecast for Friday evening, Feb. 12, with heavy snow and wind and a low of 24 degrees Fahrenheit.
The temperature is anticipated to rise by Sunday afternoon.
