Guidance sought for Vance Property development
Community members are being asked to share ideas for one of the largest undeveloped areas in East Multnomah County that will see construction in the coming years.
A virtual open house will allow residents to visit Vance Property, an 87 acre area in the Rockwood and Centennial neighborhoods. The county-owned land is between 182nd and 193rd Avenues between Southeast Yamhill Street and Southeast Lincoln Street.
The site includes Vance Park, the Vance Pit Quarry, and yards and buildings used by the county's transportation division. The county plans to continue using the site for transportation, and a park will remain in some capacity, but the rest could be developed based on community input.
A consultant team is creating a master plan for future use of the property. The open house is available online through Sunday, April 11, at multco.us/vance
The open house has project background, a virtual site tour, community engagement, initial design ideas and questions. The information is presented in English and Spanish, and a Russian version will be available later this month.
The development won't occur for several years, but the plan will be approved by the end of 2021.
