Third person arrested in Gresham motel shooting
A 24-year-old man is the third person arrested in connection to a shooting in a Gresham motel that left four people injured from gunfire.
Caden Christman, of Portland, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, burglary, robbery and unlawful use of a weapon. He joins 19-year-old Kevin Aguirre and 30-year-old Alexander Lewis, both of Gresham, in custody on the same charges.
The shooting took place Thursday, March 18, at the Golden Knight Motel, 750 E. Powell Blvd. When Gresham Police arrived, they found four victims of gunfire, and the East County Major Crimes Team took over the investigation. Police said the violence began in a motel room before eventually spilling out into the parking lot.
The victims were 26-year-old Sarah Sabin and 28-year-old Kayla Black, both of Portland, and 30-year-old Cory Davis of Gresham. The fourth victim was later identified as Aguirre, who police arrested as a suspect during the investigation.
Black and Davis were both treated and released, while Sabin remains hospitalized.
Investigators believe there are no outstanding suspects remaining in the case. Details on the circumstances leading up to the shooting are not being released.
