Oregon's Walmarts are offering a new way to get immunized against the COVID-19 pandemic as all 45 pharmacies will accept walk-up vaccine appointments.
As of Tuesday, May 4, vaccines are being administered via walk-up and scheduled appointments. The company is also rolling out new programs to encourage people to get immunized.
"Now that supply and eligibility have expanded, it's even more important for us to reach underserved and vulnerable populations to ensure equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine," said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president of health and wellness. "Widespread vaccination is the only way we will eventually end the pandemic and help our country reopen, and we don't want anyone to get left behind as we enter this new chapter in our fight against COVID-19."
There are three Walmart Pharmacies in East Multnomah County, located at 2444 E. Powell Blvd., 3900 W. Powell Blvd., 23500 N.E. Sandy Blvd. You can still make an appointment for a COVID shot at walmart.com/COVIDvaccine
