The award is based on race sign up fees and no specific amount will be guaranteed. In years past, beneficiaries have received awards ranging from $12,000 to $24,000 in total.

Application forms can be found on the city's website and are due by noon on Friday, Oct. 29. Applications can be sent via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Applicants can also deliver or mail their forms to Sasha Konell at 1333 NW Eastman Parkway, Gresham.

In order to be eligible the nonprofit must serve residents of Gresham, be located within Gresham city-limits, have a functioning board of directors and meet other requirements listed in the application.

The nonprofit must also show that it provides services to underserved children and families and promotes the physical, mental and/or emotional well-being of the communities served.

The Gresham Lilac Run event expenses are fully funded by community sponsors, including the presenting sponsor Unitus Community Credit Union. This allows for the proceeds from the racing fees to be given to the Gresham based-nonprofit selected.
