Reynolds High gets field upgrade
Reynolds High School had its soccer field resurfaced to improve the safety and make it consistent throughout the field.
Reynolds School District contracted Pacific Sports Turf to smooth the field and remove excessive organics. The soccer field now has a combination of Kentucky Blue Grass along with Perennial Rye Grass for the playing surface. The irrigation system has also been updated and run times created to help set the new field, with Pacific Sports Turf to monitor the progress of the field until December 2021.
The new soccer field hosted the Reynold High School Boys soccer match on Wednesday, Sept. 21, vs. Cleveland High and the first Raider Girl's soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 23, vs. North Salem High.
"Soccer is a major influence with a large segment of our student and family population and we're happy to have them play on this new field," said Dee Archie, Reynolds High School's athletic director.
The project was managed by CBRE Project Management. "After hearing concerns from our community regarding the condition of the field, Reynolds School District was able to secure budget funds through our Facilities Department in order to repair the field," said Christopher Ortiz, Reynolds School District's assistant superintendent of student & family services. "We're excited to have our Raider Boys and Girls soccer teams play on a new surface with safer conditions."
