Plaque dedicated to Reynolds High School student killed in school shooting.

The event is closed to the public but will be livestreamed through Reynolds School Districts Facebook page. To honor Emilio Hoffman, a Reynolds High School student killed in a 2014 school shooting, the Reynolds School District will unveil the Emilio Hoffman memorial plaque at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, outside the Student Health Center at the school.

The space, which is currently being occupied by the Multnomah County Health Department Student Health Center, has been dedicated in Hoffman's memory.

The Emilio Hoffman Foundation, the Reynolds School District Board and local and state representatives will help unveil the plaque. Funding for the memorial was led by state Sen. Chris Gorsek, former Sen. Monnes Anderson and Rep. Zach Hudson.

"The Hoffman family is grateful to everyone who is keeping our son's memory alive," said Jennifer Hoffman, Emilio's mother. "This memorial plaque will forever be connected to the joy that my son brought to his friends, family and people who didn't even know him."

The event is closed to the public but will be livestreamed through Reynolds School District's Facebook page.

"I have heard that Emilio lit up a room upon his entrance," Reynolds School District Superintendent Danna Diaz said. "This plaque will be a reminder of Emilio's positive spirit every time students, staff and community members come to our Student Health Center."
