Community input needed to select next superintendent
The Gresham-Barlow School Board is looking for input from the community to help with the process of selecting the district's next superintendent. Previous superintendent Katrise Perera resigned on June 3. The district is currently being led by acting superintendent James Hiu.
To gather feedback, the school board is using a tool called ThoughtExchange so as many people as possible can participate. The ThoughtExchange online discussion is available in a variety of languages including Spanish and Russian.
While participating in the discussion, participants will be asked questions on what they believe a potential superintendent must know about the district and what qualities are required for the position.
During the online discussion participants will be asked to consider and assign stars to some ideas shared by others and to learn what's important to the group.
The thoughts and stars participants share will be kept confidential. The ratings will help the board understand the most important areas to focus on as they work to select the next superintendent.
Anyone in the community can be participating by visiting the ThoughtExchange website.
