Gresham man arrested for Hood River home invasion burglaries
A Gresham man was arrested last week for allegedly threatening an 89-year-old woman with a weapon, tying her to a chair and burglarizing her home in Hood River.
At 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, Hood River Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of Tucker Road in Hood River. The victim, who had been bound to the chair, was able to free herself and call the police after her home and a next-door, unoccupied residence were both burglarized.
Deputies identified Kevin Alexander McCallum, 51, of Gresham, as the suspect in the case.
With assistance from United States marshals, McCallum was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, May 12, in Gresham without incident. He faces charges of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree burglary, coercion and menacing.
