Fountains for area's toddlers, youth opens Friday, May 20, for summer season of fun.

COURTESY PHOTO: CITY OF GRESHAM - The city turned on the Children's Fountain Friday, May 20. Good news for the warm weeks ahead — the city of Gresham has reopened the Children's Fountain at the Gresham Arts Plaza, 401 N.E. Second St.

There are two fountains in the park, one designed for toddlers and one for bigger kids. Both are powered by jets of cool, clean, chlorinated water. The fountain is open, weather permitting, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is no lifeguard on duty, so parents must supervise their children.
