The sounds of the Slavic community made their way into downtown Gresham for a two-day music series that featured cultural performers this past weekend.
The Eastern European Music Evening was held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, in the Gresham Arts Plaza, 401 N.E. Second St. Performing were Chervona on Saturday, and Darka Dusty & Borscht Beatniks on Sunday.
There was also food available for purchase, arts and crafts, activities for kids and more. All of the proceeds were donated to support Ukrainians during the ongoing Russian invasion.
The free concerts were hosted by the Slavic Community Center of NW, which received funding from a city of Gresham Arts and Cultural Grant to put on the performances.
