Annual community gathering brings kids activities, food, live music, and pop-up marketplace

PMG PHOTO: CHRISTOPHER KEIZUR - Fairview on the Green had musical acts like the Bilgerats & Pyrettes. This weekend was all about the "Good Times" in Fairview as the community came together for a summer celebration that transformed a downtown park a child's play wonderland, live concert venue, pop-up market, outdoor art gallery and more.

Fairview on the Green ran from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Community Park, 21600 N.E. Park Lane, across from City Hall. The free, family friendly event had bouncy castles, obstacle courses, rock climbing walls, and more in the Kids' Zone; live music from DJ Scott Tom, the Bilgerats & Pyrettes, and Remedy; food and artisan vendors; and a beer and wine garden.

The day kicked off with "Chalk the Walk," which had visitors draw their own chalk artwork on the streets that had been closed off for the event. There were three categories, children, youth and adult, all following the theme of "Good Times in Fairview."

Fairview on the Green was made possible by sponsors like First Community Credit Union, Allwood Recyclers Inc., Townsend Farms, The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Twelve Mile Disposal Services, General Pacific, Inc., Mt. Hood Community College, Gresham Toyota, and Quality Diesel Parts.
