All the proceeds from the fifth annual Lilac Run to be donated to chosen local nonprofit

PMG PHOTO: CHRISTOPHER KEIZUR  - The 2022 run raised more than $20,000 for the nonprofit Girls on the Run Portland Metro organization. Applications for the Gresham Lilac Run beneficiary are now open and will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2. The beneficiary must be a local nonprofit organization working in the community to serve underserved youths and families and promote physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The 2022 run raised more than $20,000 for the nonprofit Girls on the Run Portland Metro organization. Their work empowers young girls locally by providing recreation opportunities and mentoring connections.

The award is based on race sign up fees and no specific amount will be guaranteed.

Application forms can be found on the city of Gresham's website. Once the application is completed it can be sent via email to {obj:64680: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.}. Applicants can also deliver or mail their forms to Sasha Konell at 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway, Gresham.

The fifth annual Gresham Lilac Run will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023. The event will include a 5K run/walk, 10K and half marathon courses that begin and end at Main City Park.

Registration for the run will be opening in the fall.
