Volunteers needed for Downtown Gresham cleanup event to prepare for future events

PMG FILE PHOTO  - A Downtown Gresham cleanup event will run from  8 a.m. — noon on Sunday, Aug. 14, to help prepare the downtown area for major city events The City of Gresham and Historic Downtown Business Association are hosting a cleanup event from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 14, to help prepare the downtown area for major city events like the final Third Thursday, the annual Teddy Bear Parade and other fall events. Gloves and trash pickers will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring small gardening hand tools, buckets for garbage and any other tools to help clean up the sidewalks if they have them. Treats and coffee will be provided by our Historic Downtown Business Association. Volunteers will receive email communication about where to meet and what tasks they will work on. Tasks include picking up trash, removing small branches, sweeping sidewalks, pulling weeds and other cosmetic jobs throughout the Downtown area.
