2022 Boring Marathon has its runner registration remaining open until Sept. 4

The 2022 Boring Marathon is fast approaching and registration for the multiple races close on 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4. PMG FILE PHOTO - Runners can use the Boring Marathon to qualify for the Boston Marathon or as practice for the Portland Marathon.

Runners can still sign-up for the races at the Boring Marathon website. People can register for the marathon, half marathon, or the 8k race.

All races will be on Sunday, Sept. 11. The marathon starts at 6:30 a.m.; the half marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 8K will start at 8:30 a.m. All races will begin at Boring Station Trailhead Park just off S.E. Dee St. in downtown Boring. A free kids run (same day registration only), will also be held at 9:45 a.m.

Marathoners expecting to finish in over six hours may start early — but are not required to. Runners can use this race to qualify for the Boston Marathon or as practice for the Portland Marathon.

There is no finishing time limit and walkers are welcome. Since the race takes place along public roads, aid stations and volunteers at intersections are stopped after six hours. The finish line will stay open until all runners come in and nobody will be disqualified due to time.

Organizers will have registration this year at packet pick-up or on race day if the race has not filled. There is no guarantee of a t-shirt with day-of registration, but bibs and a finishers medal will be provided to all runners.

Members of Marathon Maniacs, Half Fanatics, the 50-States Marathon Club, Eastwind Running and Endurance Club and students/faculty of Sam Barlow High School, Damascus and Orient Middle Schools can get additional discounts on the marathon and half marathon by contacting the race director at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for a discount code.

The marathon will only allow 130 participants, the half marathon will accept 220 and the 8K will accept 150. Once these numbers are reached, that race will close. Refunds will not be offered once the runner is signed up.

Change races is accepted but must contact the race director before Thursday, Sept. 1.

Parking, packet pick-up and age group categories can be found online at the Boring Marathon Website.
