Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village prepare to kick off holidays with Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 3-4, events.

PMG FILE PHOTO - Greshams holiday tree will be lit Saturday, Dec. 3.All four municipalities are set to celebrate the start of holiday season with tree lightings that will brighten the winter evening on a busy December weekend.

Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village are creating their own winter wonderlands with a series of free events and activities, punctuated with their respective tree lightings. The most ambitious might make it to all four, though it would take one fast set of reindeer.

Gresham will have a Holiday Lights Cruise at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, with a parade of cars decked in lights making their way to the Gresham Arts Plaza, where the Spirit of Gresham will be in full swing. The 31st annual holiday event will have music, free treats and hot cocoa. Mayor Travis Stovall and Santa will light the tree at 6 p.m.

Troutdale is bringing back its Wind-er Wonderland from noon to 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-4, at the former Troutdale General Store, 289 E. Historic Columbia River Highway. The two-floors will have market vendors, handcrafted gifts, holiday music, kids activities and more. The Troutdale tree will be lit at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in Mayor's Square.

Fairview's Christmas Tree Lighting will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Fairview Community Park, 21600 N.E. Park Lane. There will be crafts, holiday music, refreshments and more leading up at both Fairview-Columbia Library and City Hall.

Finally, Wood Village will have its 12th annual tree lighting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at City Hall, 24200 N.E. Halsey St. There will be music, refreshments and a visit from Santa and the Grinch.
