Letter writer Nancy Hills of Gresham is fed up with irresponsible people who fail to clean up after their pets in public places.

I wanted to share an issue that has been happening at Troutdale Grade School.

I work there along with many other wonderful teachers and staff. We love our beautiful new school and are very proud of it.

The issue has been that people who walk their dogs on the school property don't pick up after their pets. It's disgusting to come out on the playground with 60 kids at a time and find piles of dog poop all over the playground.

We don't have garbage cans or doggie bags outside yet. They are on order.

If you use public property and are responsible enough to own a dog, then it's your job to clean up after them. We have cameras all over the building, so keep that in mind too.

This playground is for everyone to use, but the kids come first during school hours. Be considerate and clean up after yourselves!
