Government owes aid to those who can't go to work
Again today, there is a news item about a family being evicted from their home. This one was in Houston, but the story is the same, except this time the police started a GoFundMe page for them and others like them.
But why should (families) depend on getting publicity and pity? Shouldn't a great country be able to make sure that hard working people get a cut of what they produce?
In particular, with the pandemic still a factor in unemployment, shouldn't the country be taking care of the people who are helping us all by not working at jobs that put us at risk for COVID-19? If we are not able to employ waiters or Christmas Santas, shouldn't we make sure they can pay for rent, food and medical care?
I hope everyone will take this into consideration when they vote. After all, your job could be next.
