Stovall said city's issues require public input and serious discussion to develop strategies and programs for all

I watched the Gresham Mayoral Debate (Monday, Oct. 5) and now more than ever, am convinced that Travis Stovall must be elected our next mayor.

His opponent, Eddy Morales, wants to defund our police department and the Chamber of Commerce. How will that affect our already understaffed police and help startups and struggling businesses?

Eddy said our Rockwood Community has been ignored and underserved. He insulted our dedicated city councilors by stating they are a bunch of "good old boys," making decisions to appease each other and not what is best for our communities. He claimed that 90% of his contributions were under $100 and from in-state individuals. (Check out "Eddy's Community Power PAC" and "Eddy for Gresham" on Orestar) He finished by saying that our city was a corrupt mess under the previous leadership. How dare he!

Travis Stovall spoke from the heart — the heart for ALL of us last evening. A 20-year resident of Gresham, he has built a thriving business here and has given himself to us in public service for many years. Travis didn't offer knee jerk solutions but instead, said that our issues were in need of public input and serious discussion to develop strategies and programs to better us all.

Keep Gresham "Gresham." Vote Travis for mayor!
