CCC's production of "The Lost Boy," written by Sue Mach of the college's English department, opens Thursday, March 1. The show runs Thursdays through Saturdays until March 11, at the Niemeyer Osterman Theatre, 19600 Molalla Ave., in Oregon City.

"The Lost Boy," which won the Oregon Book Award, tells the story of young Charley Ross' kidnapping. Circus entrepreneur P.T. Barnum then finds out about the crime, which leads to a media frenzy. The story further delves into everything from the emotional response of parents missing children to Barnum's publicity stunts.

The play's artistic director is James Eikrem. The show features scenic and lighting design by Christopher Whitten and costumes by Alva Bradford.

An opening night reception for "The Lost Boy" will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, with music provided by the college's jazz combo. Refreshments will be served.
