Gresham is getting a bit of the luck o' the Irish early this year, with a free online St. Patrick's Day concert Monday presented by Gresham's Center For The Arts Foundation.

The online show will feature Irish folk music and pipes and drums. The show will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday, March 1. It can be viewed at or on the Center for the Arts YouTube channel.

The Foundation is partnering with the All Irish Society of Oregon to present members of the Tualatin Valley Firefighters Pipe & Drums and a folk trio made up of guitarist Cary Novotny, fiddler Eddie Parente and percussionist Matty Sears.

Like other organizations, the Center For The Arts Foundation has had to cancel or alter many of their activities and presentations due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the foundation has committed to continue providing free cultural experiences with its series "First Mondays-Music and More!"

With the help of MetroEast Community Media, and local sponsors, the foundation is producing a virtual event the first Monday of each month through June. April's show will be Cello Jam presented by Portland Columbia Symphony. May will be a Cinco de Mayo celebration. For more information visit for the latest news and the current month's show.

"Each First Monday will offer something different … sometimes a holiday celebration, a dramatic performance or two, and of course music," the group said in its announcement.

The Center for the Arts said it thanks Gresham Ford, the presenting sponsor. It also said thanks to MetroEast Community Media; KMO Real Estate; Northwest Accounting Partners and tenants in the Bakery Block: Nicholas Restaurant; Gresham Burrito Shop; Redfred Collective; Maggie Mae's Kids Bookshop; US World Class Taekwondo; Brad Hornback State Farm; Low Road Bar & Grill; Weston KIA; Clackamas County Bank; Gresham Sanitary Services; Stumptown Signs and SALT Academy.
