PMG FILE PHOTO - More than 100 Pacific Northwest artists are expected to bring their works to the Gresham Arts Festival Saturday, July 17.After a year pause, the largest festival in East Multnomah County is making a roaring return with a new venue, but the same passion for celebrating the art community.

The 19th annual Gresham Arts Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 17, in the Gresham Arts Plaza, 401 N.E. Second St. The day will have more than 100 artists from the Pacific Northwest, a kids corner, local cuisine, treats and beverages.

Nearby downtown merchants will welcome visitors with outdoor dining, shopping and live music, while the Gresham Farmers Market will also be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Gresham Arts Festival is free to attend and family friendly.

The variety of work that will be on display in Gresham is mind-boggling, with juried artists showcasing their talents across a range of mediums. There will be ceramics and cottage crafts, glass and jewelry, paintings and photography, sculptures and woodwork, 2D and 3D mixed media, and so much more.

The festival also has 19 local Gresham artists, including Creative Wood & Steel, Blaze Metal Design, Nancy J Smith Photography, Sara Moody, Glitter and Clay Creations, Wildflower Fusing, Baskets by Nancy, Quilted Treasures, Natalie Native Art, Marie's Custom Quilting, Pottery by Marjorie, and Gresham High School students.

There will be 20 food vendors between the festival and farmers market, and many of the downtown businesses will be open with special deals.

The Gresham Arts Festival is made possible, thanks to support from its sponsors. They include the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce, The Gresham Outlook, Pediatric Therapy Services, Gresham Toyota, ServPro of Gresham, Clackamas County Bank, Rise City Church, Rob Hendrickson — State Farm, Second Star Party Characters, World Class Taekwondo.
