Lincoln converts a fourth down play to score the winning points

by: THE OUTLOOK: DAVID BALL - Greshams Ben Bachman comes down with a catch during the Gophers final drive in Fridays 20-17 loss to Lincoln. The Lincoln Cardinals came up with all the clutch plays in the fourth quarter Friday night to score a 20-17 comeback win at Gresham.

The Gophers held a 17-12 lead with less than 10 minutes to play before Lincoln put together its winning drive. The Cardinals converted a key 3rd-and-9 when quarterback Nate Ostmo hit Jaray Kindell at the first down marker. Kindell spun away from a tackler and picked up another 15 yards to move the ball across midfield.

The Cardinals would convert a pair of short fourth downs later in the drive, moving into the lead when running back D.J. Pope found a hole in the back of the end zone and caught an 18-yard pass from Ostmo on 4th-and-1.

Tao Oulman caught the two-point conversion to put Lincoln up 20-17 with 6:13 left.

Gresham had two chances down the stretch, but an interception and a missed field goal left the Gophers short when the horn sounded.
