TROUTDALE — Lightning may not strike twice in the same place, but Reynolds that didn't hold true for Reynolds forward Fabian Perez, who netted a pair of second-half goals from near the same spot five yards in front of the net to send the Raiders to a 2-1 win over Aloha in Thursday's season opener.

The teams had been locked in a 1-1 tie for more than 20 minutes when Andrew Her looped a crossing pass over a crowd and found Perez on the other side for a quick one-timer past the keeper.

"I was left wide open, so I asked for the ball. Andrew found me, and I put it in," Perez said.

Reynolds plays at La Salle Prep at 7 p.m. Thursday.
