Barlow scored a touchdown on its opening drive and that proved to be enough points in a 21-6 win at Centennial on a sluggish, rain-soaked Thursday night.

Bruins' running back Jobi Malary was the first to make a visit to the end zone, slipping around the left side for a first down before being tripped up. He would slide across the goal line on his belly, but was officially marked down at the 2-yard line.

Centennial's defense came up with a pair of goal-line stops before Barlow QB Austin Davis followed his lineman over the left side for the touchdown.

Both sides struggled to move the ball on the wet night, especially in the first half while playing through a steady downpour. The teams combined to go three-and-out eight times in the half.

Malary hit the end zone twice in the opening minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach.

Barlow (3-4) hosts Gresham (4-2) in a rivalry game Friday, Oct. 20, with the winner taking the inside track to the league's final guaranteed playoff spot.
