HILLSBORO — After getting up to play Oak Hill the previous night, Barlow suffered a letdown in the second game of the Les Schwab Invitational against one of their Mt. Hood Conference foes.

The Bruins shot just 38 percent from the field and committed 15 turnovers as Barlow fell to Clackamas 83-60 on Thursday afternoon.

Russell Gray led the Cavaliers with 17 points and Dane Agost notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jesse White and Dominic Jacoby each had 10 points for the Bruins.

"Give credit to Clackamas. They were way more aggressive than we were and they defended at a really high level," Barlow head coach Tom Johnson said. "I can't say that we were ready to play though. (Clackamas) came out and kicked our rears."

The Cavaliers jumped out the gate on an 8-0 run after four quick points by Cole Turner and a 3-pointer from John Jaha.

It was very evident early on that Clackamas's size was bothersome to what Barlow was trying to do offensively. Turner and Agost both stand at 6'7" and were lengthy and active on the defensive end, which cause four turnovers by the Bruins in the opening two minutes.

"Our intensity was really high coming out and we managed to get a lot of deflections and steals of our press," Agost said. "Our defensive intensity definitely led to a lot of baskets."
