HILLSBORO — The David Douglas girls basketball team started with a flurry and was never challenged on its way to doubling up McKay 66-33 last Thursday at the Hillsboro holiday tournament.

Lydia Collins swatted the opening tip ahead to Jie Tan, who took one dribble to the basket and put the first points on the scoreboard. Tan swiped a steal in the backcourt and hit a 3-pointer, then made another steal along the sideline and sent the ball ahead to Savannah Proske for a layup.

Half a minute into the game, and the Scots were up 7-0.

It wouldn't get closer.

The Scots open the Mount Hood Conference season at Barlow at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5.
