The Centennial girls gave up only one point in the first quarter on their way to a 45-19 win at Gresham on Friday night.

The Eagles took charge when Ellie Basinski blocked a shot on the perimeter, and teammate Dominique Andrews hit a 3 at the other end to send Centennial into halftime with a 22-9 lead.

Andrews knocked down another triple from in front of the Eagles' bench to start the third quarter, and teammate Maddie McHone hit from the same spot.

In a flash the lead had grown to 21 points.

Centennial (7-8) has won three straight and finds itself tied with David Douglas and Central Catholic for third place in the Mount Hood Conference. The Eagles play at Central at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
